TDA Community Ambassadors and Eye Primary Social action group joined Citizens UK and leaders from Unison Eastern Region, Nene Park Trust, HELP (Helping Empower Lives in Peterborough) and Orton Church this week to work on their mission to improve housing in Peterborough.
We met with Adrian Chapman - Executive Director of Place and Economy and Rob Hill - Service Director for Housing and Communities at Peterborough City Council
They committed to
- Handing over two large city centre brownfield sites to developers who will use the land to build affordable housing.
- Developing a "think tank" to define genuine affordable housing for Peterborough citizens.
Well done to Daniela Gomes (Yr 9), Luiss Bundzinieks (Yr 5) Maram Adra (Yr 6) Fatima Qader Bibi (Yr 4) and Aiza Qader Bibi (Yr 3) who delivered fantastic speeches.
Our students are beginning to understand how powerful collaboration can be!
